Our proposal is to promote and develop an urban agriculture system at Sunset Park to mitigate/solve the local food desert. The system consists of four processes: farming, manufacturing, distribution and recycling. By using the vacant lots and abandoned buildings as opportunities for urban agriculture and enriching the streetscape experience, this urban agricultural volume will help to support the existing food manufacturing industries and the local cuisine needs in homes and restaurants at 5th avenue, also collecting their organic waste and converting it into fertilised soil. Hence forming a closed loop system for food at Sunset Park. This proposed system is also intended to provide relevant education and job training for the locals and hence increasing local job opportunities.
